What is a universal solvent?

The universal solvent is water, because it dissolves so many substances because of its high polarity. If a substance is polar, it will dissolve another polar substance. A solution is a mixture that forms when one substance dissolves another. A solvent is the substance that does the dissolving. A solute is the substance that gets dissolved.

Kool Aid

The kool aid dissolved into the water. The water is the solvent, the kool aid is the solution and the kool aid powder is the solute.

What is specific heat?

The specific heat of a substance is the amount of heat needed to increase the temperature of a substance by 1degree celcius. Water has a high specific heat becuase of the strong attraction among water molecules.

Boiling Water

Since the water went up 1 degree it went from still to boiling. It went up one degree, because of it's temperature (specific heat).
